Matthew & Cheyenne Gilbert
Matthew and Cheyenne Gilbert's journey together has been a testament to the transformative power of God's grace. Through trials, missteps, and even heartbreak, their faith has been the anchor that held them steady. Today, they stand stronger and more committed to each other than ever before, united in their pursuit of a life devoted to God.
Matthew's story begins with a deep-rooted love for learning and a natural curiosity, gifts he believes were bestowed by God. These traits led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a promising career path. Though raised in the church Matthew did not truly follow Jesus in his early adult years. It wasn't until December 1, 2021, that he experienced a profound encounter with Jesus Christ, leading to a complete surrender of his life to Him.
This pivotal moment ignited a passion for faith-filled service. Matthew transitioned from a successful career to serve alongside his wife in ministry. His journey led him from an internship at his home church to a role as a kids pastor, sharing this joy of serving with Cheyenne.
Cheyenne's path to faith was intertwined with Matthew's from the very beginning. She grew up attending church alongside Matthew and his family, forming a strong foundation of faith at a young age. Even before Matthew fully surrendered his life to Christ, Cheyenne's steadfast faith and dedicated prayers for him were instrumental in holding their relationship together. Her obedience to God and unwavering belief in Matthew's potential for transformation played a crucial role in their journey towards a shared life of faith.
Cheyenne's professional life has also been marked by God's guidance. Starting as a teller at Signet Federal Credit Union, she steadily advanced to her current role as a Financial Officer. The skills and experience gained at Signet proved invaluable when she and Matthew founded Pursue Truth, a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission.
Together, Matthew and Cheyenne are living testaments to their faith. They continue to serve with Idols Aside Ministries, discipling fatherless youth through mentorship and outdoor activities. Their shared passion for ministry extends to Pursue Truth, where they work side-by-side to build God's kingdom.
Their love story, which began in high school, culminated in marriage in 2019. They are now blessed with a wonderful son, Luke, and share their home with two dogs, two cats, and a flock of chickens. Cheyenne cherishes her role as a mother and is grateful for the life they have built together.
Looking ahead, Matthew and Cheyenne eagerly anticipate where God will lead them next. Their prayer is that their lives will continue to reflect His love, serving Him through their work, family, and ministry.
